5 ways to use Aceternity & Magic UI without the tells

Keep the popular component kits, but escape the 'seen it before' look with real customization.

Kits like Aceternity UI, Magic UI, and React Bits are powerful. The problem is that stock, they make you look identical to countless other sites. Here's how to keep your personality without ditching them.

1. Swap in your brand color

Purple→indigo is the #1 AI-default fingerprint. Replace the kit's gradients and accents with your brand palette. One color change transforms the whole impression.

2. Cut the number of effects

Beams + Spotlight + Meteors + Aurora on one page is flashy but mass-produced. Keep one signature effect in the hero and strip the rest. Restraint reads premium.

3. Change the font

Instead of the default sans (Inter-ish), set one custom font that fits your brand. Typography is the cheapest, highest-impact differentiator.

4. Add asymmetry

Centering everything is a classic AI habit. Mixing in left-aligned, two-column, or offset grids makes it feel human-designed.

5. Give shadow & radius a hierarchy

Don't apply rounded-2xl + shadow-xl to every card. Vary the emphasis by importance, or your information hierarchy disappears.

These five alone visibly lower your VibeCheck score. Kits are just tools — the key is not leaving the defaults untouched.
